Once you understand how to identify the seven plus one wastes then perhaps it is useful to understand the Solutions that can be used to decrease or eliminate waste.
It might be a massive generalisation to say that men tend to avoid reading the instructions before commencing on assembly; however…. The instructions in the absence of previous specific experience tend to be the most reliable method available.
There are many ways of ways to skin a cat; however I am sure that there are very few reliable methods. I wonder what value there is in such a process. Until the value in this activity is clear then it is probably best not to attempt the procedure:
* It is a waste of good cat
* You might end up severely lacerated: who said that the input to the process is a dead cat?
Once you are clear on the value add, or in English (UK) the Purpose; then you can begin journey. Purpose drives process, procedure, work instruction, etc
So now you have sorted those out then you are probably ready to streamline, simplify, and eventually automate to create flow.
